Batman Live Expands North American Tour

UPDATE

Being the kid at heart that I am, I took my kids to see Batman Live this past weekend and it was a great time. From the impressive digital background to the acrobatics and soundtrack and highlighted by the performance of the actor playing The Joker, it was definitely worth the price of admission and all the hype. The Batmobile was pretty sweet as well. If it iscoming to a town near you, I encourage you to check it out – if superhero live shows are your thing.

As for the tour, it has expanded since we last blogged about it. Dates in the following cities have been added – Colorado Springs, Loveland, Wichita, Sioux City, Kansas City, Green Bay, Ft. Wayne, St. Louis, Dallas, Tulsa and San Antonio. The tour now runs through the end of 2012.

With the release of “The Dark Knight Rises” today, comes a huge buzz about the end of Chris Nolan’s take on the Batman saga. Garnering great reviews, Batman will be on the top of many people’s minds this summer and potentially the fall if the movie is a blockbuster, as it will most likely be.

Holy Live Audience Batman! The Caped Crusader Touring Coast to Coast

Batman. Robin. The Joker. The Penguin. Catwoman. The Riddler. Two Face. All your familiar faces from the classic DC Comics Batman comic books are coming to a live stage near you this coming Fall. Batman Live, the hugely successful UK production of a unique Caped Crusader storyline, is coming to a few select U.S. markets in September and October with more dates yet to be announced.

Very much in the vein of the immensely popular Broadway play Spiderman: Turn Off the Dark, the show features set designs from Es Devlin, who has created stage and costume designs for Lady Gaga, as well as a custom built Batmobile by Formula One designer Gordon Murray. The production is a $20 million affair and has thus far received rave reviews in the United Kingdom.
