The Bell X1 may have been the first aircraft to exceed the speed of sound, but the Irish rockers named for the famed speedster are looking to dial things down. This fall, Bell X1 will be playing a stripped-down set of shows across the United States, featuring only acoustic sets.

With no electronic finagling, only lead singer Paul Doonan’s vocals supported by the unfiltered/synthed stylings of bandmates David Geraghty and Dominic Phillips, the group has set the stage for a more intimate fan experience. The brief national tour will last less than a month, covering the breadth of the United States (including two gigs up in Canada) at a frantic pace that would do the rockers’ namesake proud.

Be sure to visit the band’s website Friday, when tickets for its acoustic shows will be available for purchase.
