Belle & Sebastian ‘Dance’ Around U.S. This October
Belle and Sebastian are all set to return to the music stage, putting out their ninth album, Girls in Peacetime Want to Dance (see a preview for the album’s songs below), on January 20 through Matador Records. And don’t forget—the band’s entire vinyl catalog will be back in print come October 7, making a perfect holiday gift for longtime Belle and Sebastian fans. As far as tour dates go, the band has planned a few in order to gear up for the new record. They’ll start at Tabernacle in Atlanta, GA on October 1, before heading to Austin, TX for Austin City Limits. From there, Belle and Sebastian will play shows in Los Angeles, CA; Phoenix, AZ; New York, NY, and Mexico City, MX; before setting off to play some shows internationally. Formed in Glasgow, Scotland in 1996, Belle and Sebastian got their name from the 1965 children’s book Belle et Sébastien, written by Cécile Aubry. Though the band has gained a great amount of critical acclaim, the commercial following hasn’t yet, well, followed. The band is currently comprised of Stuart Murdoch, Stevie Jackson, Chris Geddes, Richard Colburn, Sarah Martin, and Bobby Kildea.
