UPDATE: O2 London Teaser

Marie Antoinette? Lady Gaga? Alice in Wonderland? No that would be Beyonce in the below video. The video is a teaser promo for her upcoming O2 Arena shows in London, set to take place on April 29, April 30, May 1, May 3, May 4 and May 5. The shows are part of the global trek of her Mrs. Carter Show World Tour, set to kick off April 15 in Belgrade, Serbia.

Tickets to her show are in crazy demand. For example, her stop in Brooklyn at the Barclays Center sold out literally in seconds after they went on sale.

UPDATE: V Festival

Beyonce has been confirmed as one of the headliners of this year’s V Festival. Held annually in the United Kingdom, the festival takes place at two parks simultaneously and share the same bill – those parks being Hylands Park in Chelmsford and Weston Park in South Staffordshire. Bands and artists perform at one location on Saturday and then swap on Sunday.

Set to take place August 17 and August 18, the festival dates will be Beyonce’s only European festival appearances this year as she embarks on her Mrs. Carter World Tour in April.

Other acts on the bill include the other headliner, the Kings of Leon, Two Door Cinema Club, The Vaccines, Stereophonics, Emeli Sandé, Jason Mraz, Fun., Ellie Goulding, Kendrick Lamar and many more.

Tickets are on sale now and the best deals on all V Festival tickets can be found right here at SeatGeek.

UPDATE: United Kingdom

Mrs. Carter has expanded the United Kingdom leg of her world tour, she announced today. With the addition of three new shows, she will now play a total of nine shows across the pond.

The new shows announced today are two additional shows at London’s O2 Arena on May 4 and May 5, bringing her run their to six shows, as well as a second show at Manchester Arena on May 9.

Tickets for these new shows go on sale February 23.

UPDATE: Essence Music Festival

Looks like Mrs. Carter is heading back to New Orleans. In a huge announcement today for the Essence Music Festival, it was revealed that Beyonce herself will be headlining the festival, set to take place July 4 through July 7 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

Beyonce will play one night of the festival, folding it into her “Mrs. Carter World Tour.” The exact date has not yet been determined but she will definitely be tearing up the stage like she did at the Super Bowl back on February 3.

She will join a bill that already includes Maxwell, Jill Scott, Brandy, Keyshia Cole, New Edition, Blackstreet and LL Cool J.

Tickets for the festival are on sale now and the best deals can be found right here at SeatGeek.

UPDATE: Tour Announcement Coming?

Seems like someone leaked details of the pending Beyonce world tour a little bit too soon. In a scoop by Billboard, an apparent image of her 2013 word tour surfaced in the website for Live Nation United Kingdom (see image below).

Beyonce tickets

In the image, it states that the tour will be called The Mrs. Carter Show. The tour is expected to come in support of a yet-to-be-released new album, an album that Beyonce is working with The Dream, Pharrell Williams, Justin Timberlake and Timbaland on.

In further potential tour news, Billboard also states that Beyonce declared, “I may have an announcement after the performance — fans should just stay tuned to see,” referring to her halftime performance at Super Bowl XLVII.

Yes, stay tuned indeed!

Beyonce Tour

It seems there’s never been a better time to be a Beyonce superfan (does she have any other kind?): Between the hype building behind her Super Bowl performance, HBO documentary, and that Destiny’s Child reunion taking place at the Super Bowl – which may or may not be chronicled in her HBO documentary – the past several months have been one big Bey media storm. Not that anyone’s complaining. Through all the Pepsi endorsements and teaser trailers, however, perhaps the most exciting news to have dropped from on high (that place where Beyonce lives and plays UNO with hubby) is the announcement of a brand-new album. Above and beyond her role as Blue Ivy’s mother, or Barack Obama’s songstress of choice, Beyonce is foremost a singer. She might have thought it was high time to remind the masses of her diva status. You know, in case we (or she?) had forgotten her calling.

According to preeminent authority Rolling Stone Magazine (who lifted the scoop from GQ), Beyonce Knowles-Carter has enlisted the help of Timbaland, The Dream, Pharrell, and Justin Timberlake for her untitled fifth studio album. In an interview with GQ, one of our most likable icons hits on the contemporary zeitgeist by explaining her desire to return to hip-hop music of the ’90s, a decade she sees as a golden age. Speaking of herself and her collaborators, she says: “We all started in the nineties, when R&B was the most important genre, and we all kind of want that back: the feeling that music gave us.”

The ’90s are experiencing a rebirth of sorts, as Beyonce’s nostalgia points to, and to which recent performance announcements by The Backstreet Boys, Justin Timberlake, Matchbox Twenty, Aaron Carter, and Beyonce’s own girl group, Destiny’s Child, can attest. Although the trailer for Life Is But A Dream, Queen B’s autobiographical doc airing on HBO February 16, features Beyonce expressing her fears about staying relevant, she’s clearly on the right track with those Gen X leanings. Having never been one to give the people what they didn’t want, fans the world over are waiting to see how Beyonce’s inspirations manifest next.

They’re also waiting for a tour announcement. Very little about album no. five is known, including promotional dates. We’ll be sure to keep you posted, though, as the months move ahead and even more Beyonce news comes out of the woodwork!
