The Big Day Out Festival has announced their 2013 lineup, which features artists such as the Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Killers, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Vampire Weekend– most of whom will be gracing the stage of the Australian-born festy for the first time.

After last year’s decline in ticket sales, shift in management, and looming threat of the festival being axed all together, founder Ken West has taken back the reigns of the 20-year-old festy, and is confident that the fresh line-up of musicians will breathe new life into the BDO. For the first time in BDO’s history it will not be heading to Auckland, New Zealand, which has been cut from the tour as part of the effort to rebuild and revitalize the festival. Instead, the show will play five dates in Australia, kicking off in Sydney and hitting up the Gold Coast, Adelaide, Melbourne and Perth.
