Billy Joel is Actually Allowed to Play Shows Outside of MSG
Billy Joel is not chained to the Dolan family after all—he’s currently in the midst of an ongoing (for as long as demand lasts) residency at New York City’s Madison Square Garden, so he’s been monopolized by the Big Apple. But what if you can’t make it to NYC to see Long Island’s greatest treasure? Joel has set up one singular date outside the Garden for 2015—he’ll play a show on March 20 at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse, NY. Much like his time at MSG, this Syracuse show is one for the record books—it marks Joel’s seventh at the venue, making him the artist to have played the most at the Carrier Dome. Tickets for the show are on sale now. For more information, visit Joel’s website.
William Martin Joel has had a career that many musicians can only dream of. He’s the ninth best-selling recording artist and third best-selling solo artist in the United States, and his Greatest Hits Vol. 1 & 2 is the third best-selling album in U.S. history. His first hit, “Piano Man,” hit the charts in 1973, and since then, Billy Joel has had 33 Top 40 hits, all of which were penned by him. He’s sold 150 million albums worldwide and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1999.
