Blake Shelton Tour

Blake Shelton has led two (relative) nobodies to winning positions on NBC’s hit vocal extravaganza The Voice, but did we all forget that he started his career off as a twang-ready, ten gallon hat-wearing country superstar? Though his hair has gotten shorter (it was quite close to a mullet in the early days) and his sound leans to the more popular adult contemporary, Shelton is still the same old Oklahoma-raised country boy we’ve all known and loved. His self-titled debut came in 2001, hitting number one with lead-off single “Austin.” Blake Shelton, 2003’s The Dreamer, and 2004’s Blake Shelton’s Barn & Grill were all certified gold, cementing Shelton as a country heartthrob (his boyish good looks and southern charm sure didn’t hurt, either). Over the course of his (relatively) short career, Shelton has had 22 singles chart, including 13 that went to No. 1 and three that hung around in the Top 10, and has had the pleasure of being nominated for four Grammy Awards (always a bridesmaid, never a bride, Shelton has yet to win).

Shelton is probably best known today for his role as a judge on The Voice, but his judging days started on Nashville Star and Clash of the Choirs. This summer, Shelton sets out as a member of the Country Megaticket, joining wife Miranda Lambert, Rascal Flatts, Brad Paisley, Kenny Chesney, and more on a country music jamboree the likes of which we’ve never seen before.
