Alternative rock band Blonde Redhead are releasing their first album in four years, Barragán, on September 2 (listen to the album track “Dripping” below), so they’re obviously going to go on tour to support their new sound. Following stints in the United Kingdom and Europe, the North American portion of the tour will start November 1 at Mr. Smalls in Pittsburgh, PA. Next, Blonde Redhead will travel to Chicago, IL; Vancouver, BC; Los Angeles, CA (at the Fonda Theatre); Austin, TX; Atlanta, GA; Washington, D.C.; Philadelphia, PA; New York, NY (at Bowery Ballroom); and Toronto, ON, to name a few. The tour will end with a show at the Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn, NY on December 2. Tickets for the tour are on sale now.
Composed of Kazu Makino on vocals and twin brothers Simone (on drums) and Amedeo (on lead guitar) Pace, Blonde Redhead was formed in New York City in 1993. Their sound has evolved over the years, first starting out as a sort of noise rock and melding into the classic alt-rock sound we know today (and inspiring bands like Warpaint).Their last studio album, Penny Sparkle, was released in 2010.
