UPDATE

Add a little festival headlining action to the 2013 tour plans of Bon Jovi. Announced today, the boys from New Jersey will head across the pond to headline their only United Kingdom festival on June 16 at the Isle of Wight Festival.

In a statement on the festival’s website (link above), Jon Bon Jovi said, “The Isle of Wight Festival is legendary and we’re excited to join in the long tradition of Rock ‘n’ Roll history. We are honoured to be the headliners on the Main Stage Sunday night. This will mark our first visit to the island and I expect it will prove to be a highlight of our tour and of 2013.”

Bon Jovi join already announced headliners of the June 14 show, The Stone Roses. Tickets for all of the shows go on sale November 28 and the best deals on all Isle of Wight Festival tickets can be found right here at SeatGeek.

In the first of what promises to be a string of hyped announcements, Bon Jovi have released Canadian dates for their upcoming 2013 global trek: Because We Can – The Tour. The group known for broad smiles (the eponymous lead singer), big hair (ditto) and bracing anthems (a collective effort) will drop their twelfth studio album in 30 years, What About Now, next spring. Lucky northern fans will have the chance to preview the quartet’s newest set of tracks first, when Bon Jovi kick things off in Montreal on Valentine’s Day.

Jon and the gang will bum around the True North for three shows in February before returning for another three gigs in early April. Whether or not they’ll spend March touring Canada’s neighbor to the south has yet to be confirmed, although US – as well as Latin America, Europe, Far East, and Australia – dates are forthcoming. As for fans who’re wondering: Why name the tour after something other than the band’s latest album? The assertive title seems to offer the best answer.

We’ll have all the latest Bon Jovi info as its released, bit by bit, but in the meantime, feel free to psych yourself up with some vintage hair-rock!
