Boston is Delivering “Heaven On Earth” This Summer
Boston Tour
Part of the backbone of classic rock back in the 1970s and 80s, Boston recently released its first album in over a decade, titled Life, Love, and Hope. The record’s first single, “Heaven On Earth,” has inspired the band’s 2014 summer tour, composed of 38 announced shows spanning from the beginning of June until the end of August. Stops on the Boston concert tour include Clearwater, FL, at Ruth Eckerd Hall, Nikon at Jones Beach Theater on Long Island in Wantagh, NY, and The Woods at Fontanel in Nashville. Although the band is no longer selling out huge arenas like it once did, their performances remain as classic as ever, nearly 40 years since they first came together and hit the seen with “More Than a Feeling” off of their self-titled classic rock record.

While the band had huge commercial success in its first years together, it’s recently weathered tragedy. Lead singer Brad Delp committed suicide in 2007, and the remaining members of the band came together at a tribute concert in his honor shortly thereafter. Since that time, however, certain former members have feuded with founder and guitarist Tom Scholz, and recent Boston tour lineups have often featured Scholz as the only original member. Hopefully this latest, sixth studio album, which features tracks with vocals recorded before Delp’s death along with various other lead singers, will give the summer tour a worthy mix of the band’s old foundation and a new dose of energy to win over fans won through the decades. That’s how a real “Rock & Roll Band” honors the past while entertaining the masses well into the future.
