Brad Paisley Tour 2013

While we’re not sure why Brad Paisley has taken such a hostile view of everyone’s favorite season (or at least every music lover’s), the country singer’s Beat This Summer Tour is nonetheless bound to be one of the hottest tickets this May-August. Paisley is scheduled to hit the road alongside Chris Young and Lee Brice, promoting his ninth album, Wheelhouse, or his first release since 2011’s successful This Is Country Music. The string of 2013 tour dates will see the Southern crooners visiting venues along either coast and throughout the American heartland, with one Canadian performance scheduled for mid August.

Though many artists would be overjoyed to call a list of awards as long as Paisley’s their own, the popular performer has never released a No. 1 album. When Paisley dropped This is Country Music two years ago, Keith Caulfield of Billboard Magazine noted the singer’s unfortunate disadvantage, going up against the commercial monster that is Lady Gaga. “With all this talk about Gaga, you’ve got to feel a little bad for country superstar Brad Paisley, whose This Is Country Music album will likely debut in the runner-up slot,” Caulfield sympathized.

This year, however, with Gaga’s ARTPOP endeavor still percolating, and the diva on strict bedrest following her recent hip surgery, the field may be set for a strong Paisley showing.
