Broken Bells Embark on Festival Tour This Summer
Broken Bells fans, your favorite duo is back at it and will on the road touring festivals this summer. The indie rock band is comprised of Brian Burton (also known as Danger Mouse) and James Mercer. Burton is famous for, among other things, his 2004 mashup album The Grey Album and his other duo, Gnarls Barkley’s, 2006 hit “Crazy.” Mercer is best known as the lead vocalist for indie rock band The Shins. They released their second studio album, After the Disco, earlier this year. It’s fitting that Broken Bells will be touring a bunch of festivals this summer because they met in 2004 at the Roskilde Festival in Denmark. As they say, the rest is now history.
The band will kick off their summer jaunt in New York City at Governor’s Ball on June 7, before heading south for a performance at Bonnaroo in Tennessee on June 12. Later in the month, Broken Bells will be playing at Firefly in Delaware on June 21-22 and is then planning to perform at Chicago’s famous Lollapalooza on August 1. The following week, the group will head north to British Columbia and to the delight of Canadian fans will make an appearance at the Squamish Festival on August 8-9.
