The year gets better and better for fans of the Grateful Dead. Accomplished pianist (and one-time touring member of the Dead) Bruce Hornsby will hit the road at the same time that various offshoots of the beloved jam act have decided to head out. The singer behind the hit “The Way It Is” will play a variety of shows, ranging from traditional rock gigs with his band The Noisemakers all the way to classical performances with yMusic. Along the way, he’ll also play several solo dates.

The tour starts with a run of yMusic dates and first up is Princeton’s McCarter Theatre on February 27. He’ll tour with the orchestra until the middle of March, when he’s set to play a solo show at Oxford’s Gertrude Castellow Ford Center for the Arts. After several more solo sets, the Noisemakers will join him for shows at Savannah’s Lucas Theatre for the Arts and the Cincinnati Music Hall. The tour wraps with one last Noisemakers show at the Clyde Theatre in Fort Wayne.
