Sometimes I think I should’ve been born 10 years earlier. Sure, I’d probably be wifed up with a baby right now, but I would’ve been able to enjoy the music of all my favorite rock n’ roll bands in real time: The Dismemberment Plan, Pavement, Dinosaur Jr. and of course, Built to Spill. Luckily, it’s not too late for my ‘90s post-grunge wannabe self, as the latter have just announced dates for a winter tour.
The 10-date romp kicks off on January 31, in Portland, OR, at Doug Fir Lounge for the first of two gigs at the venue. On February 5, Built to Spill touches down in Canada for a show at Sugar Nightclub in Victoria, BC. Not surprisingly, the tour wraps up with two performances in the band’s hometown of Boise, ID. The first, on February 11, will take place at Neaurolux, and on the 12th you can catch them at The Crux. Brush up on your Built to Spill by checking out their latest album, There Is No Enemy, which was released in October of 2009. Hopefully along with the new tour dates will be the announcement of a new album! Don’t miss these quintessential indie-rockers when they hit the road next month.
