Charli XCX Goes ‘Boom Clap’ Around North America
We’re hearing plenty of British pop star Charli XCX these days—her collaboration with Aussie rapper Iggy Azalea, “Fancy”, is most definitely the song of the summer for 2014 (“I Love It”, a collaboration with Icona Pop was last year’s). Riding the wave of this success and the release of her upcoming album, Charli XCX is heading out on a month-long headlining tour in North America. The tour will start out on September 26 at The Social in Orlando, FL, and then continue through Jacksonville, FL; Washington, DC; New York, NY (at Webster Hall); Montreal, QC; Chicago, IL; Dallas, TX; and San Diego, CA; with a final date in Portland, OR on October 27 at Wonder Ballroom. Support for the tour comes in the form of girl-power artists Elliphant and FEMME. Pre-sale tickets are available now via Charli XCX’s website.
The daughter of a Scottish father and Indian mother, Charli XCX (born Charlotte Emma Aitchison) has been making music since the ripe age of 14. Her debut EP, You’re the One, hit shelves in 2010, spawning hit singles “Stay Away,” “Nuclear Seasons,” and “You’re the One.” She released her debut major label studio album, True Romance, in 2013.
