New Year’s Eve, Please – What’s Good in Chicago 2012-2013
Chicago New Year’s Eve Events & Concerts 2012-2013
On the off-chance you’re like me, and have been diligently reading and ignoring all the messages about New Year’s Eve your friends keep sending you, here is the breakdown on what’s happening in Chicago on New Year’s Eve (if you can still get tickets…).
Third Eye Blind New Year’s Eve Concert
Denial is the best coping mechanism, so why not pretend like you’ve never grown old and go see Third Eye Blind at the House of Blues. What a great opportunity to impress friends with your singing-along abilities.
The Hood Internet New Year’s Eve Concert
On the more modern end of the music spectrum, The Hood Internet is playing at Beauty Bar. These mash-up masters are sure to spin something that’ll get your feet moving (with minimal aid from alcohol).
FKA New Year’s Eve Dance Party
If The Hood Internet is a little too hetero-normative for your taste, FKA, aka Formerly Known As, offers a more alternative dance option. Though they typically host queer-friendly dance parties on the first Thursday of the month at Big Chicks, they’re throwing a New Year’s Eve party which welcomes all genders, representations, identities, and sexualities. It will be held at Bottom Lounge, 1375 W. Lake St., Chicago, with DJ sets from Reaganomix, DJ Masisi and others.
The Airborne Toxic Event New Year’s Eve Concert
Hotel Lounge Parties
Most fancy hotels in Chicago are offering some sort of cocktail-DJ combination. Check out the NYE Runway Event at the Hyatt Regency, or The NYE Soiree at the Palmer House Hilton, if you’re in the mood for more expensive partying.
