Chromeo to Set Out on ‘Frequent Flyer’ Tour
Feeling funky? Electro-funk duo Chromeo have been busy in recent months, discussing a partnership with Mallard Air (seriously) and supporting their newest LP, White Women. Now, they’re combining both ideas and setting out on the Frequent Flyer Tour, piggybacking on previously announced summer dates. Their tour kicks off on July 26 at the Capitol Hill Block Party in Seattle, WA, before heading to Kelowna, BC; Chicago, IL; New York, NY; Cincinnati, OH (for Midpoint Music Festival); Toronto, ON; Austin, TX (for Austin City Limits); New Orleans, LA; Winnipeg, MB; Calgary, AB; and Portland, OR. The tour finishes up with a date at the McDonald Theatre in Eugene, OR on October 29, leaving the guys a few days to pick out the perfect Halloween costumes.
Chromeo is made up of P-Thugg (aka Patrick Gemayel) and Dave 1 (aka Dave Macklovitch), two childhood friends who started making music together when they were only 15. The band was born with their 2004 debut album, She’s in Control, which drew comparisons to 1980s pop hits like Hall & Oates. Following their debut, Fancy Footwork was released in 2007, and Business Casual followed in 2010. Chromeo is also a festival favorite act, playing gigs at Glastonbury, Reading and Leeds, Fuji Rock, Lollapalooza, Coachella, Bonnaroo, and more.
