CHVRCHES Tour
Glaswegian (yep, that’s what people from Glasgow, Scotland are called) trio CHVRCHES have just announced plans for a lengthy string of international dates to support The Bones of What You Believe, their debut album (released in September of 2013). CHVRCHES kicks off their tour in their hometown, playing at the TYCI Christmas Party on December 21. They’ll move onto stops in Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, and Sydney in Australia, then cross back to Europe for shows in Paris, Newcastle, Leeds, Frankfurt, Zurich, and more. Finally, they head stateside for shows in New York City (at Terminal 5), Denver, and Tempe, AZ. I’m just tired from reading this list, so I can’t imagine how the band will feel when it’s over. Tickets are available for most European dates now, and Americans just have to sit tight.

CHVRCHES (pronounced as “churches”) was formed in 2011, and the group consists of vocalist Lauren Mayberry and instrumentalists/synth geniuses Iain Cook and Martin Doherty. Buzz for CHVRCHES came fast: the band came in fifth place on the BBC’s Sound of 2013 list, which lists the most promising new musical talent (sister-band HAIM took the top spot). Their Recover EP hit the charts in March 2013 to much acclaim.
