NYC-based art-pop duo Cibo Matto—now happily reunited—released their first record since 1999 in February (it’s called Hotel Valentine), and they’ve announced yet even more tour dates to support their new baby. Taking place in September and October, Cibo Matto is hitting the road with guitar legend (and Yuka Honda’s hubby) Nels Cline. The tour kicks off in Baltimore, MD on September 11 at Ottobar, and then continues through Charlotte, NC; Athens, GA; Jacksonville, FL; Nashville, TN (at Exit/In); New York, NY (at The Heath); Pioneertown, CA; West Hollywood, CA; Big Sur, CA; and San Francisco, CA. Tickets for these shows are on sale now—visit the band’s website for more details.

Meaning “crazy food” in Italian, Cibo Matto is made up of Yuka Honda and Miho Hatori. Founded in 1994, the band’s sound is described as a mix of trip-hop, acid jazz, cabaret, and pop. Their songs were initially about food, but, with the help of Sean Lennon, Timo Ellis, and Duma Love, Cibo Matto expanded its subject matter. Fun fact—the band is not that big in their homeland. Their debut album, Viva! La Woman, sold 74,000 copies in the United States, but only 20,000 in Japan. The band split in the early 2000s, reuniting in 2011.
