Counting Crows Announce New Album, Tour
Berkeley’s own Counting Crows have just released plans that their forthcoming (sixth) album, Somewhere Under Wonderland, is set to be released later this year via Capital Records. Of course, to promote the records, the band is hitting the road, starting an extensive North American tour on June 11 at the Straz Center for the Performing Arts in Tampa, FL. Counting Crows will then move through Hollywood, FL; Greenville, SC; Nashville, TN; Atlanta, GA; Atlantic City, NJ; New York, NY; Boston, MA; Detroit, MI; Grand Rapids, MI; Phoenix, AZ; and Las Vegas, NV, among other cities, before culminating their tour on August 17 with a stop at Los Angeles’ own Greek Theatre. Joining Counting Crows is another ‘90s favorite, Toad the Wet Sprocket. Tickets for the shows are on sale now.
Formed in 1991, Counting Crows consists of Adam Duritz, David Bryson, Charlie Gillingham, Dan Vickrey, David Immerglück, Jim Bogios, and Millard Powers. The band gained instant acclaim with the release of their 1993 debut album, August and Everything After. They’ve sold more than 20 million albums worldwide and gained a 2004 Academy Award nomination for Best Song for Shrek 2’s “Accidentally In Love”.
