Country Music Awards

Country music is well represented at the Grammys, and highlights this year included Carrie Underwood’s win for Best Country Solo Performance for her song Blown Away, which also won Best Country Song. Best Country Album went to Zac Brown Band for Uncaged, but apparently these categories aren’t enough, and the country music scene needs its own special awards ceremony.

Academy of Country Music Awards

The Academy of Country Music hosts its own psuedo-Grammys, with the killer combination of presenters, awards, and live music. Celebrating its 48th year, the event will take place on Sunday April 7th, though it is currently sold-out, it will also be broadcast live on CBS. Country superstars, Kelly Clarkson, George Strait, Hunter Hayes and Miranda Lambert are already announced to be performing, as well as many other TBA artists.

If nothing else, tune in to see co-hosts Blake Shelton and Luke Bryan (and try to decide who looks better in a cowboy hat). They’ll both be performing live, as well as hosting. What talented men.

ACM Awards

If we know one thing about country music it’s that they do things up big. That means that in addition to the awards ceremony, there’s also the “ACM Experience”, held at the The Orleans Hotel & Casino in America’s realest city – Las Vegas. In addition to tasty food, there will be country apparel and rides! As if this isn’t enough, Brad Paisley will also be performing 3rd annual ACM Fan Jam, on Sunday the 7th. Too much country? No such thing.
