Cursive Announces Hometown Residency at The Waiting Room
Cursive at The Waiting Room
There’s no place like home, especially when you’re in a rock n’ roll band. Trading in a tour bus for their own beds, indie rockers Cursive have just announced a residency in their hometown of Omaha, NE, as part of a new live-recording project. Taking place throughout December at The Waiting Room, the band will perform every thursday of the month save for the 26th. Each show will feature two special guests as openers, including guitarist Ted Stevens’ side-project.
According to a press release, the shows will feature fan favorites as well as “deeper cuts” from Cursive’s 18-year-long catalog. (I hope to God they play The Ugly Organ in its entirety.) With over nine albums and nearly two decades of music, there will be plenty to choose from. The band’s latest album, I Am Gemini, was released in February of 2012 and received 4 out of 5 stars from online music publication Consequence of Sound. Cursive is part of the Saddle Creek Records family, a label which includes artists like Bright Eyes, The Thermals and Desaparecidos.
