Dan Deacon NYC Shows Will Go to Sandy Relief
Long Island’s finest Dan Deacon has announced his upcoming NYC shows will be donated to hurricane Sandy relief. The first, a November 14th gig at Music Hall of Williamsburg, and the other, a November 16th gig at Bowery Ballroom. Besides these two shows, Deacon will also be on the road performing in support of his latest album, America, from November 5, in Wisconsin, through December 15, in Florida. Along the way he’ll stop in Canada, Vermont, Maine, and Georgia. Grand Buffet will open for him on varying dates.
Anybody familiar with Dan Deacon’s live shows can expect nothing less than usual large-scale audience participation and interaction, which has come to be Deacon’s trademark. When playing solo, the multi-instrumentalist will often perform at floor-level with the audience so he can be surrounded by the crowd as he plays. Since 2003, he has released over 10 albums; his most recent was given an 82/100 by Metacritic, a review-aggregating website.
