Coming off a bunch of dates with Queens-born rapper Action Bronson this past fall, wacky rapper Danny Brown has already planned to take his hard beats and fast rhymes across the pond to Europe. Now, he’s turned his sights to the mother land, announcing dates and cities for a run of shows in the United States. Starting on March 22 at BUKU Fest in New Orleans, the tour dates run through Syracuse, NY; Providence, RI; New York, NY; Boston, MA; Carrboro, NC; Buffalo, NY; Madison, WI; Fort Collins, CO; Los Angeles, CA; Seattle, WA; Gulf Shores, AL; and San Diego, CA, to name a few. Born in Detroit, MI, Daniel Dewan Sewell, aka Danny Brown, is known for his distinct voice, big hair, and unique style. His 2011 album, XXX, received crazy critical acclaim (including earning Spin’s distinction of being the number-one hip hop album of the year) despite only being released online, and for free, at that. Danny Brown also earned the title of Metro Times’ “Artist of the Year” for 2011. His latest album, Old, was released in 2013.
