Danny Brown just shared tour dates behind his upcoming album, uknowhatimsayin¿.

The Detroit oddball has always produced rap music that comes in on the bleeding edge between electronic music and hip-hop, but this album is pulling from a deep well of boom-bar rap history with none other than Q-Tip producing the entire effort. Given that, Brown had to find other ways to bridge worlds, creating an song in the recently released “Dirty Laundry” that he claims blurs the lines between rap and stand-up comedy.

“This is my version of a stand-up comedy album. Most of my close friends now aren’t rappers — they’re comedians and actors. So I wanted to create something that mixed humor with music. Something that was funny but not parody,” he said.

He’ll play “Laundry” and other hits on his tour that begins on October 16 in New Orleans. From there, he’ll head across the Southwest on the way to sets at Pomona’s Glass House and Los Angeles’ Regent. The tour will turn back and head across the Midwest for shows at Chicago’s Metro and Milwaukee’s The Rave 2. The tour hits Boston’s Big Night Live and Brooklyn’s Warsaw before closing out on November 19 at Montreal’s Corona Theater.
