UPDATE

The Dave Matthews Band announced today a show at the Hollywood Bowl on September 12 to celebrate the release of their new album “Away From The World.” The show will come one day after the release of the album, set to hit stores and iTunes on September 11.

The show comes at the end of the band’s summer tour, which is currently under way and has featured songs from the new album.

The Dave Matthews Band just revealed the details for the release of their eighth studio album “Away From The World.” Produced by Steve Lillywhite, who produced the band’s first three albums, the new album will hit the masses on September 11. The album is available as a pre-order on iTunes and has already cracked the top 10 album downloads.

As for touring, the boys are currently in the middle of a summer long trek across North America after having taken last year off from extensive touring (see below for the full details).

All the big musical acts are hitting the road this year. After taking last year off, quite possibly one of the most successful touring bands is back at it in 2012. They join an already crowded summer lineup of huge acts including Radiohead, Madonna, Lady Gaga, Bruce Springsteen and The Beach Boys, just to name a few. According to Billboard Boxscore, DMB has sold more tickets in this past decade than any other artist. Their prolific touring moved 11.2 million tickets, grossing $61.2 million and sold more than a million tickets in their 2010 tour.
