Top 5 Tour Announcements of the Week
From Dead & Company to Deltron 3030, here’s who we’re most excited to see announce tours this week.
Dead & Company Fall Tour
Another season, another Dead & Company tour. Since John Mayer joined the remaining Grateful Dead members (sans Phil) to form the new jam incarnation, they’ve been unstoppable on the road performing at stadiums and arenas across the country. Now they’ve just announced plans for a fall tour slated to kick off on November 12 at NYC’s Madison Square Garden. The run comes to a close on December 8 in Sunrise, FL at the BB&T Center. Tickets & tour dates here.
Dopapod ‘MEGAGEM’ Tour
Boston-based jam band Dopapod are hitting the road one last time before taking a year sabbatical to creatively recharge. See the electronic outfit from October 26 to December 31 while they tour behind their fifth studio release MEGAGEM. Of the upcoming plans, keyboardist Eli Winderman says, “MEGAGEM and the fall tour are our way of seeing everyone before we take some time to work on other parts of our lives.” Tickets & tour dates here.
Sam Smith Intimate Club Shows
British crooner Sam Smith has announced a very teensy run of shows in anticipation of his new album In The Lonely Hour. Though the album won’t be out for a few more months, you can see him in Los Angeles on September 11 and NYC on September 13. He’ll be in London and Berlin later in the month. More dates added soon? We’ll see. Tickets & tour dates here.
Deltron 3030 Fall Tour
Earlier this week legendary rap trio Deltron 3030 announced a very small run of shows out West that kicked off last night in Missoula, MT. While you probably won’t get a chance to see them this time around, this announcement is particularly exciting as it might indicate future album or larger tour plans from the band who’ve been pretty quiet since 2013’s comeback release The Event II. Tickets & tour dates here.
Yes 50th Anniversary Tour
Not to be outdone by The Dead, members of the group Yes have just announced plans for an anniversary tour. In celebration of 50 years as a band, the rockers will head overseas for shows throughout the UK, Netherlands, Belgium and France. The trek goes from March 13 until March 30.
