With the first date of the Dead & Company tour fast approaching, a commercial for the upcoming performances has begun airing. It features Hart, Kreutzmann, Weir and Mayer at a photo shoot, followed by footage of them rehearsing as a full band at Weir’s TRI Studios. There’s also a video of them practicing “China/Rider.” How do you think they sound? Check it out below.

(Update 9/10/15)
Dead & Company have already announced a full tour in addition to their Halloween show at Madison Square Garden later this year. Now the supergroup–featuring John Mayer and members of the Grateful Dead–have revealed even more dates which will take place throughout the month of November. The new string of shows are based in the West, Midwest and South, kicking off on November 11 at the First Niagara Center in Buffalo, NY, and wrapping up with a two-night run at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, NV. John Mayer has already confirmed that he will be back in the studio with the Continuum crew in January, so don’t expect this supergroup to stick around forever! Check below for the fresh batch of shows.

The tour kicks off on October 29 in Albany, NY, a the Times Union Center and wraps up with a two-night New Year’s Eve run at The Forum in Los Angeles, CA, from December 30-31. Tickets go on sale to the general public on August 28. Check below for a full list of dates.

During the height of the Grateful Dead “core four” reunion madness, rumors of another potential Dead pairing started popping up. But instead of Trey filling in for Jerry, it was John Mayer stepping up to the plate. (Sure, the guy is a complete tool, but he can shred.) Images of Mayer jamming with Bob Weir surfaced online, and now, months later, the rumors have become a reality.
