Georgia natives Deerhunter just released their fifth album, entitled Monomania, and they’re going on tour to support the new LP. Starting in August, Deerhunter will hit the road with dates in Sacramento, Phoenix, Portland, Vancouver, Seattle, Chicago, Columbus, Philadelphia, Boston, and an ending show in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Notably missing from the roster of concerts is a date in their home state, but not to worry – more dates are sure to be added. Pick up the album so you can sing along!

Deerhunter was founded in 2001 by lead vocalist Bradford Cox and drummer and keyboardist Moses Archuleta. The band has survived over a decade with a variety of line-up changes, including the death of bassist Justin Bosworth of head trauma from a skateboarding accident in 2004. Bradford Cox is known to perform in sundresses, noting that jeans and a t-shirt are “anticlimactic”. True, Bradford, but maybe we could do without the fake blood you also smear all over your face while singing…
