Depeche Mode Embarking on Massive International Tour
Depeche Mode has revealed a bit more info about their upcoming U.S. tour. Electronic rockers Crystal Castles will act as openers for their shows in Houston on September 18 and Los Angeles on September 29. And that’s it… for now. Stay tuned for more deets as they unfold.
After previously announcing an expansive world tour, Depeche Mode has shown the United States a little love and affection (that’s all anybody ever really wants, anyway) and announced a string of North American tour dates. They’ll take a short break after their July 29 performance at the Minsk Arena in Belarus, and will get back on the road on August 22 for a show at the DTE Energy Music Theatre in Detroit, MI, followed by gigs in the Midwest and Canada. On September 6, they’ll play at the newfangled Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn, NY, before making their way down South for shows in Atlanta, Tampa and Houston. The tour wraps up with a string of West Coast dates, including two nights at the STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, CA, followed by an October 8 show at the Desert Sky Pavilion in Phoenix, AZ.

Another new show’s in the works for Depeche Mode, specifically a much-hyped March 11 appearance on Letterman’s “Live On Letterman” concert Web series. The performance will air in advance of that night’s “Late Night With David Letterman,” during which the band will also perform.
The webcast is slated for 8pm, while you can catch Depeche Mode live with Letterman at 11:35pm on CBS.
Keeping the good news coming, Depeche Mode have released the first single off their new album, entitled “Heaven.”
The baroque-rock track sees the group in fine form, but don’t take our word for it – have a listen below:

Depeche Mode have finally announced the news their fans have been waiting months to cheer about: their new album’s title and release date!
Delta Machine, Depeche Mode’s 13th studio effort, is slated to drop March 26. The band will release two versions of the record: The standard edition, and a deluxe package, which includes a bonus disc of four additional tracks and a 28-page book featuring the photography of multimedia artist Anton Corbijn.
Depeche Mode have announced the official month of release for their followup to 2009’s Sounds of the Universe and 13th studio album: March of 2013. The effort is still untitled, the specific release date has yet to be set, and there’s been no further word on a North American tour… but the band has given us this great new pulsing video:
The Depeche Mode 2013 world tour has started to expand. As we highlighted below, only European and Middle Eastern dates had been released to date (which is still the case) but new dates are starting to pop up in Europe. The demand in London, where the band is scheduled to play on May 28 at the O2 Arena, has been great so they have added a second show. The new show will take place the following day on May 29 and both shows will serve as the only two U.K. dates on the trek.
Tickets are on sale now and the best deals on all Depeche Mode tickets can be found right here at SeatGeek.
It’s become so popular it’s earned its own shorthand, an acronymic distinction that, this day in age, indicates a phrase has been embraced by the modern parlance: EDM. Now, almost 35 years after Depeche Mode first brought Electronic Dance Music to the masses, the original synth-heads are back at their keyboards with a new album and international tour. The band’s untitled record (their 13th) is set to drop late next spring, just before the trio of forerunners fly off to Tel Aviv for the first of 34 spring and summer concerts.

Although only Middle Eastern and European dates have been released so far, rumor has it Depeche Mode are gearing up to announce a string of North American shows for late summer/early fall of 2013. If true, the timing of these performances bodes well for a possible DM cameo at either Lollapalooza or Austin City Limits. Be sure to check back here when/if the whispers wind up materializing into concrete dates – and ticket links!
