Philadelphia-based electro-jam band the Disco Biscuits has announced its plans for New Year’s Eve. The guys will be playing two sets of shows in Chicago and New York in the week leading up to 2015. The first set will be a two-night stint at Chi-Town’s Concord Music Hall on December 26 and 27. After that it’s on to the Big Apple, where the guys will take over the Best Buy Theater on December 29, 30, and of course December 31 (New Year’s Eve).

Formed at the prestigious University of Pennsylvania in the mid-90s, the Disco Biscuits have became known for their trance fusion sound, which mixes elements of electronic and improvised rock. Since their self-released debut album, Encephalous Crime, in 1996, they’ve put out seven LPs, a couple EPs, and numerous recordings (both audio and video) of live shows. tDB is also know for their support of the Philly-music scene, mostly through their Diamond Riggs Studio, and involvement with various charities which they raise money for via their Camp Bisco music festival. The band’s name comes from the slang term for Quaaludes.
