Dolly Parton Announces “Blue Smoke” World Tour
Dolly Parton “Blue Smoke” World Tour
Singer, actress, and all-around country-freakin’-icon Dolly Parton may be 67 years old, but she’s certainly showing no signs of slowing down. She’s just announced plans for the “Blue Smoke” World Tour, set to kick off next year. Parton will play shows in the United Kingdom and Europe throughout June and July 2014, then set on out to other parts (including the US) later on. Also announced were Parton‘s plans for her 42nd studio album (no, that’s not a typo, literally her 42nd record), entitled Blue Smoke. VIP packages for the tour will be available – some include access to Dolly’s wardrobe and instruments.
Dolly Rebecca Parton got her start in music as a child performer, but she came to greater success on Porter Wagoner‘s weekly television show in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Since then, Parton has gone on to pen and perform some of the biggest songs of all time, including “Jolene,” “I Will Always Love You,” “Islands In The Stream,” and more. She also is behind the creation of Dollywood, a theme park in Tennessee’s Smoky Mountains, as well as the Imagination Library, which acts and fundraises on behalf of child literacy.
