Doomtree Announces New Album, Tour Dates
Minneapolis-based hip-hop collective Doomtree has been previewing snippets of its forthcoming third album since the beginning of the year, and now we have a release date. Dubbed All Hands, the follow-up to 2011’s No Kings, the album will drop on January 27 on Doomtree Records. Listen to “Gray Duck”, one of the album’s first singles, below. To commemorate the occasion, Doomtree is heading out on a North American tour. It all kicks off on February 2 in Columbia, MO, at Mojo’s; after Missouri, the band will visit Dallas, TX; Houston, TX; New Orleans, LA; Atlanta, GA; Philadelphia, PA (at Boot & Saddle); New York, NY (at Highline Ballroom); Ann Arbor, MI; Chicago, IL; Omaha, NE; Fort Collins, CO; Seattle, WA; Portland, OR; Los Angeles, CA (at The Roxy); Pomona, CA; Mesa, AZ; and Albuquerque, NM, among others. For more information on ticketing and on-sale times, visit Doomtree’s website.
Doomtree is comprised of seven members: Rappers P.O.S., Dessa, Cecil Otter, Sims, and Mike Mictlan, as well as producers Lazerbeak and Paper Tiger. The group is known for incorporating a wide range of styles into their sound, adding complex lyrics and a ton of wordplay. Their annual “Doomtree Blowout” (taking place this year from December 6 to 13), is held in a variety of Minneapolis venues to showcase not only their performances but also the Twin Cities musical scene.
