Duran Duran Cancels Remaining Tour Dates

Duran Duran, who over the past week announced that keyboardist Nick Rhodes was suffering from a viral infection that led to the cancellation of shows in Atlantic City, Pittsburgh, Kettering (OH) and Ravinia Park (IL), confirmed that they would be ending their 2012 global trek short with the additional cancellation of their two shows on August 31 and September 1 in Orilla, Ontario.
The following was from a statement on the band’s website: “All ticket holders for any of the shows that have been canceled should now apply for refunds at the point of purchase, as rescheduling these dates has not been possible given the venues’ upcoming season schedules and availability. Members of the band’s VIP Fan Community should contact Customer Service on the dedicated Community Website.”

Duran Duran, a band that was a staple of the video rotation on MTV in the channel’s early years, is hitting the road globally in 2012 with North American tour dates as part of the plan. Touring in support of their thirteenth studio album entitled “All You Need is Now,” the band will first play cities across South America and Europe before coming to the U.S. in August.
The exact U.S. tour details have yet to all be confirmed, but the dates that have been solidified include gigs in Oklahoma, Tennessee, Mississippi, North Carolina and Illinois. According to Pollstar, cities that have dates but unconfirmed venues are Costa Mesa, California (August 11); Tucson, Arizona (August 12); Atlanta (August 19); Mashantucket, Connecticut (August 24); Atlantic City, New Jersey (August 25) and Kettering, Ohio (August 28). The U.S. leg will kick off on August 8 in Saratoga, California. We last looked at Duran Duran in our list of the most expensive concert tickets, so expect demand to be high.
