Organized in 1985 by John Mellencamp, Neil Young and Willie Nelson (with Dave Matthews coming on board in 2001), Farm Aid’s goal is to raise awareness about the loss of family farms and to raise funds to keep farm families on their land. Since its inception, the non-profit organization has raised over $39 million “to promote a strong and resilient family farm system of agriculture.” Check out the Farm Aid website for the full details of their mission.
