Feist Plans Short Tour of Intimate Shows
One of our favorite Canadian hipster chanteuses just celebrated a birthday this week—Happy birthday, Feist! To commemorate her 38th, we’re happy to spread the word that she has planned a short tour (dubbed “The Mettle Tour”, a play on words for her last album, Metals) of intimate shows to kick off on April 7 at the Rebecca Cohn Auditorium in Halifax, NS. Next, the tour moves through Northampton, MA; Tarrytown, NY; and Portsmouth, NH (told you it was short). No word on whether or not Feist is planning a new album, but could this batch of gigs be the last before some new tunes? Tickets for the tour are on sale now.
Originally a member of indie rock outfit Broken Social Scene, Feist launched her solo career with 1999’s Monarch (Lay Your Jewelled Head Down). She’s sold over 2.5 million records, with her 2007 release, The Reminder earning her four Grammy nominations and five Juno Awards, including Songwriter of the Year, Artist of the Year, Pop Album of the Year, and Single of the Year. Feist has released four studio albums, and collaborated with metal group Mastodon for an EP in 2012.
