Foster the People Come of Age on Summer Tour
Foster the People is having a pretty good year so far. They just released their second album, Supermodel, last month, and they’re fresh off playing the first weekend of the Coachella Music Festival in Indio, CA. What’s next? The trio is hitting the road hard through August. Their shows kick off April 18 in Las Vegas, NV, at the Boulevard Pool at The Cosmopolitan before heading back to a second weekend of Coachella-mania. Next, they’ll make stops in Nashville, TN; New Orleans, LA; Houston, TX; Hampton Beach, NH; Columbia, MD; Boston, MA; Portland, OR; and New York City before jetting off to Europe. Foster the People will be back Stateside come June, playing at Lollapalooza in Chicago, IL, on August 2 and ending the tour at the Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, CO, on August 6. St. Lucia will support on varying dates, and tickets for most shows are on sale now.
Formed in Los Angeles, CA in 2009, Foster the People has had a quick rise to the top. With Mark Foster on vocals and piano (among others), Cubbie Fink on bass and backing vocals, and Mark Pontius on drums, the group’s tune, “Pumped Up Kicks,” became a viral success in 2010. Their debut album, Torches was released in 2011, and they received Grammy Award nominations for the album and its mega-successful single.
