Foster the People Tour

Foster the People’s first single, “Coming of Age, off their sophomore album, Supermodel (out March 14), is heating up the charts, so it’s no wonder that they’ve just released plans for a North American tour. Kicking off at Coachella in Indio, CA on April 12, the band will play shows in Nashville, TN; Dallas, TX; Tampa, FL; New Orleans, LA; Boston, MA; Portland, OR; Detroit, MI; and New York, NY, among others. Also announced is a surprise free show in LA on January 23, with the details revealed on the band’s Twitter account. St. Lucia is set to support on some of these dates (check your exact show for details), and tickets are on sale now.

Formed in 2009 in Los Angeles, CA, Foster the People is comprised of vocalist Mark Foster, bassist Cubbie Fink, and drummer Mark Pontius. Fun fact: Mark Foster was originally a commercial jingle writer prior to forming it eponymous band. The band released Torches, their debut album, in 2011, and Foster the People was nominated for two Grammy Awards in 2012 for the album and the album’s buzzed-about first single, “Pumped Up Kicks” (which hit No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 as well as the Rock Songs chart).
