Further Tour 2013

Former Grateful Dead members Bob Weir and Phil Lesh are taking their other music project, Further, out on the road for a three-month tour this summer-fall. The far-out fun is set to kick off at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on July 11, the first of several East Coast gigs the group has booked through the end of the month. The guys have agreed to take August off, but will be back on the road come early September, when Morrison, CO, will welcome them for a four-date (from the 19th to the 22nd) residency at the Red Rock Amphitheatre. The rest of Further’s tour will be devoted to venues out West, with two more residencies, in California and Nevada, rounding out their latest concert series.

Speaking of rounding out, musicians Jeff Chimenti, John Kadlecik, Joe Russo, Sunshine Becker, and Jeff Pehrson have all agreed to complete the lineup fronted by Weir and Lesh. Though each artist has been performing for decades, Further as a collective is relatively young; they first got together in 2009, when they agreed to name themselves after Ken Kesey’s (in)famous touring bus.
