Gary Clark Jr. Tour

Gary Clark Jr., the new-age blues guitarist from Austin, TX, and former SeatGeek artist to watch in 2012,  has announced a large North American tour this coming fall. Clark Jr. is coming off of a strong festival showing, having made appearances at New York City’s Governor’s Ball, Hunter’s Mountain Jam Festival, and Philadelphia’s The Roots Picnic, amongst many more. His forthcoming tour will be in support of his latest album, Blak and Blu. Supporting acts for these dates have not yet been announced, but fans can expect bands similar to past supporting acts, such as Kat Edmonson and The Wheeler Brothers.

Clark Jr. has been referred to as the “future of Texas blues,” having come from the same region and upbringing as classic artists like Stevie Ray and Jimmie Vaughan. He has garnered comparisons to great blue’s guitarists like Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, and Lenny Kravitz. His style is what separates him, where elements of blues are combined with a strong jazz and soul influence.
