Gary Numan Hits Road to Promote Splinter (Songs from a Broken Mind)
Gary Numan Tour
British music man Gary Numan, who helped pioneer electronic music in the late 1970s & 80s with his synthesizers and guitar pedals, has announced a 2014 US Tour in support of his latest album, Splinter (Songs from a Broken Mind). Splinter… is Numan’s first album of new music in seven years, technically speaking; although he released Dead Son Rising in 2011, the songs on that album were all at least loosely based on previously recorded demos from earlier projects. Regardless of how you look at it, any Gary Numan fan has to be excited about this, his 20th studio album. Since his start with Tubeway Army & “Cars” to his latest single “Love Hurt Bleed,” Gary Numan has blazed his own trail & continues to do so with this new set of tour dates.
The first 2014 Gary Numan tour date is February 10 in Tel Aviv, and he arrives in the US March 5 and play’s Los Angeles’s Mayan Theatre March 6. His 21 total dates in North America will see him cross the country to Webster Hall in New York City on March 22, play two shows in Canada, and complete his round trip back in California at The Fillmore in San Francisco on April 6. Numan’s tour also includes a first for him – an appearance at South by Southwest 2014, March 12-14. Hitting SXSW in Austin will give plenty of fans old & new the chance to hear a festival setlist from a career spanning over 35 years; as always, expect Numan to go full throttle in entertaining the crowd and giving them something new.
