Pollard Releases New Solo Album, Guided By Voices to Tour
Robert Pollard began his musical career in 1983, and has since been hailed by critics and fans as one of the best songwriters of all time. His work in Guided By Voices, as well as his crazy successful solo career which began in 1996, has thrust him into the elite club of “living music legends” with the likes of Dylan, McCartney and Jeff Tweedy. Pollard will release his nearly 20th solo album, Jack Sells the Cow, on September 18.
In addition to the new record, Pollard will also have an art show on display with buddy Tobin Sprout in Brooklyn. Said artwork will be available for viewing Friday October 5, 6-11 p.m., Saturday October 6, 2-11 p.m., and Sunday by appointment only at The Library is On Fire Headquarters, 114 Forrest Street loft 3C buzzer 13, Bushwick, Brooklyn, 11206.
Guided By Voices Tour Tickets
Robert Pollard is known for both his prolific solo career, and for his work as the long-standing Guided By Voices frontman. In his 23 years with the band (which reformed in 2010), he has released 18 albums – three of which came out just this year. You can catch Guided By Voices when they take a fall tour of the south beginning on September 8 in Dayton, OH (their hometown), through September 29 in St. Louis, MO. They’ll makes stops in cities like Orlando, New Orleans and Austin.
