It’s the beginning of October, which means Halloween is right around the corner. If you’re reading this article you’re likely too old to go around the neighborhood trick-or-treating (I know, sad), but you’re not too old to dress up and party! Read our guide for the hottest concerts in Las Vegas, plus 2014 costume ideas sure to make you the coolest person at the club.

Best Halloween 2014 Concerts in Las Vegas

Phish @ MGM Grand

Every year the prolific jam band picks a city to set up shop in for a three-night Halloween run. Last year the East Coast won, and the band performed in Atlantic City. This year they’re taking it back to the West as part of their fall tour. At every Halloween show they’re known to pull out all the stops, this year will be no different.

Avicii with Diplo @

For better or worse, Avicii and Diplo seem to be EDM’s latest item. If you’re new to the genre, their catchy and heavy-hitting songs would make this the perfect introductory show. If you’re not new to the genre, you probably already have tickets to this.

Britney Spears @ Planet Hollywood

Britney has been performing at Planet Hollywood with the “Pieces of Me” tour since last year, so by now it should be a well-oiled, lip-syncing machine. As if the production didn’t have enough costumes already, we’re sure Brit Brit will add a special touch for Halloween.

Erasure @ Palms Hotel

Erasure is back in the fold with the recent release of their album, The Violet Flame, last month. They’re in the midst of an international tour, and will stop at the Palms Hotel before heading overseas. They’re a product of the ’80s, so perhaps bring your best oversized sweater and knee socks.

New Found Glory with We Are the In Crowd @ Hard Rock Live

We’re always happy to relive our punk-pop glory days, especially on holiday where it’s not taboo to wear black nail polish and don temporary tattoos. While their new tunes leave something to be desired, this will definitely be a high-energy, fun show.

Halloween Costume Ideas

It’s been a good year so far for pop culture in 2014. Well, I guess that depends on how you define “good.” While we’ve certainly had some low points–wars, diseases, domestic disputes–we’ve also had high points. Facebook finally found a positive purpose with viral fundraising videos, and between pop power couples and new Disney films, we have a whole new repertoire of songs to karaoke to. Needless to say, we drew a little bit of inspiration from everywhere for our 2014 Halloween costume ideas.

1. Slutty Frozen Costume

yandy frozen costumes“Let it goooo, let it gooo!” Your inhibitions that is. Let it all hang out in the myriad of sluttified Frozen costumes, including everybody’s favorite snowman, Olaf.

2. Miley Cyrus & the Hotdog She Rode in On

miley cyrus hotdog rideSay what you want about Miley, but the chick rode a hotdog. While singing live. In a yellow fur coat. There are sooo many potential Miley costumes inspired by her Bangerz tour, but we just couldn’t get over how funny it would be to have your beau follow you around dressed like a wiener all night. 3. The Ebola Virus

ebola virusAnother fun development this year was the return of the Ebola virus. And it seems the disease has made its way to the U.S. just in time for Halloween festivities. The outfit is simple: just wear a bowl on your head, and when people ask you what you are, answer in an Italian accent: “Imma’ Bowla!”

4. Jay Z & Beyonce

beyonce outfitsDespite breakup rumors and elevator fisticuffs, Beyonce and Jay Z remain raps power couple. The two even shared the stage for this year’s “On the Run” tour, and Bey was just as awe-inspiring in her outfits as Miley. Plus, there’s this available online (sadly, only in the UK). 5. Ice Bucket Challenge

ice bucket challenge costumeMark my words: this will be the biggest Halloween costume in 2014. A spinoff on the ol’ lamp and table outfit we’ve all come to know and love, this year will be filled with party goers awkwardly bumping into walls with an empty bucket over their head, with the hashtag #ALSChallenge written across it. Or, people will just walk around sopping wet.
