Hanson Tour

Want to feel old? This year marks the 21st anniversary of the band Hanson being together. Yup, it’s been sixteen years since “MMMbop” was playing on every radio station and pogs were cool. Even though my slammers have long since been retired, this brotherly trio has kept on kicking. They recently announced that they’re set to release their ninth (yes NINTH) studio album, Anthem, on June 18 of this year. And if that’s not enough for you long time fans, they will kick off their world tour with a pair of shows on June 17 and 18 at Irving Plaza in New York City. The first gig will be a “21st Birthday” show and the second will be the official album release.

Celebrating over 16 million albums sold and their milestone 21st anniversary (they are all officially adults now), Hanson has some cool stuff in the pipeline. With a the music video for the first Anthem single, “Get the Girl Back,” featuring Kat Dennings, Nikki Reed and some real life fans, set to premiere on VH1 on April 4, and a scheduled appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on April 9, there’s a lot to look forward to. In July, they’ll travel south for shows in Brazil and Argentina before heading back up north to tour across the U.S. and Canada. With stops planned in every major city, buy your tickets and get those throwback t-shirts out…if they still fit.
