Hot Chip isn’t messing with no small venues anymore. This spring, they’re hitting the festival circuit pretty hard with appearances at Ultra and Coachella, as well as two separate Lollapaloozas, one in Brazil and the other in Chile. Though Hot Chip has been steadily gaining popularity for the past ten years, where they can go from here is a good question, because if this isn’t the top, I don’t know what is.
It must be something in the water, or in the tea, or in the beer, that makes Brits such good electronic musicians. Either I need to expand my horizons, or the majority of this decade’s best electronic is coming from across the pond. But how we can complain when they all play shows together? At various points across their tour, Hot Chip will be joined by The Howling Hex, Tanlines, The Crystal Ark, and fellow-British electro-chiller, Four Tet
