Howlin’ Rain Reveals New Song, Tour Dates
Soulful, 70’s-inspired San Francisco band Howlin’ Rain will release Mansion Songs, the first in a trilogy of similar albums, on January 27. To support the album, Howlin’ Rain will set off on a month-long North American tour, beginning with a show in Arcata, CA at Humbrews on February 25. From there, the band will visit Portland, OR; Seattle, WA (at Tractor Tavern); Vancouver, BC; Bellingham, WA; Boise, ID (at Neurolux Lounge); Salt Lake City, UT; Las Vegas, NV; Flagstaff, AZ; Santa Ana, CA; San Diego, CA; Los Angeles, CA; Santa Cruz, CA; and Oakland, CA. Howlin’ Moon will finish the tour in their native Northern California at Sweetwater Music Hall in Mill Valley, CA, on March 14. Formed by Comets on Fire’s Ethan Miller in 2004, Howlin’ Rain consists of Miller on vocals and guitar, Jeff McElroy on bass, Dan Cervantes on guitar, and Brian “Nucci” Cantrell on drums. Their sound is a combination of psychedelia, blues, funk, and classic 1970’s arena rock. They’ve released six studio albums, including 2006’s Howlin’ Rain, 2008’s Magnificent Fiend, 2010’s The Good Life, and 2012’s The Russian Wilds.
