Interpol Extends North American Tour
New York City-based rock band Interpol is releasing a new album, El Pintor, on September 9 (listen to lead single “All the Rage Back Home” below), and they’ve decided to add some more tour dates to promote the new album. After playing Lollapalooza and FYF Fest this summer, Interpol will play shows in Vancouver, BC; Portland, OR; Denver, CO; Austin, TX (at Austin City Limits); Orlando, FL; Nashville, TN; Minneapolis, MN; Columbus, OH; New York, NY (at Terminal 5); and Washington, D.C; among others. Tickets for all shows are on sale now, so visit Interpol’s website for more information.
Founded in 1997, Interpol’s original lineup consisted of Paul Banks on vocals, Daniel Kessler on guitar, Carlos Dengler on bass, and Greg Drudy on drums. Interpol is commonly associated with the revival of the indie music scene in New York City, along with other bands like The Strokes and The National. Their 2002 debut, Turn on the Bright Lights, was a critical darling, making it to No. 10 on NME’s list of the top albums of the year, as well as No. 1 on Pitchfork’s list. The band went on to release three more albums—2004’s Antics, 2007’s Our Love to Admire, and 2010’s Interpol.
