Iration Tour

What do you get when you take a bunch of reggae-loving Hawaiians and put them in a Santa Barbara-based cover band? You get Iration, but you very quickly get something more than just another group of guys covering tunes at your favorite weekend house party. In the last 10 years, Iration has managed to transition into a legit band with three EPs and three other full-length albums on their resume. Their hallmark, however, remains the Iration live performance, and this year that moved them to headliner on a tour in support of their most recent album, Automatic. The band has announced a follow-up spring 2014 tour with a weighty 37 dates of ‘Sunshine’ in the lineup.

Two-thousand-and-thirteen marked a big year for the development of Iration’s sound: one of their lead singers, Kai Rediske, left the group before Automatic was released. The band has moved forward with a more focused sound featuring only one lead singer, guitarist Micah Pueschel. The release of Automatic gained Iration its third straight Billboard Reggae chart topping album. With the unique blend of their Hawaiian roots and California love, the positive vibes of Iration’s take on sunshine reggae clearly helps them connect with established and new fans of the genre. This album features – and was produced in part by – Cage the Elephant guitarist Lincoln Parish. Their reputation and accolades precede them, but their spring 2014 tour schedule shows they have no intentions to slow down.
