Iron & Wine Take New Album on the Road With Summer Tour
Iron & Wine
Iron & Wine is back in full effect, baby! Not only has the artist (Samuel Beam) announced plans for a new album, but he’s just released corresponding tour dates in support of the tunes. (OK, would you guys totally judge me if I told you that I had no clue Iron & Wine was only one dude until I started researching for this article? Researching = reading Wikipedia.) The new record, titled Ghost on Ghost, is due out April 16, and is the first record since 2011’s Kiss Each Other Clean.
The tour kicks off on May 11 in Napa, CA, at BottleRock Festival, followed by a string of East Coast stops including a gig at the Beacon Theatre in NYC on May 14. A show at The Capitol Theatre in Portchester, NY, marks Iron & Wine’s last gig in the United States, as the second leg of his tour will take place in Europe. The overseas dates begin on May 29 in Dublin, IR, at Olympia Theatre, followed by a London gig at The Barbican. The tour wraps up on June 5 with a show in Berlin, GE, at Admiralspalast. Check out his new song, “Caught in the Briars,” below.
