James Blake Comes to North America
London-based electronic crooner James Blake is crossing the Atlantic for a brief North American tour. He’ll visit Mod Club in Toronto, ON, on November 30 before heading to Brooklyn, NY, at the Music Hall of Williamsburg on December 1; Young Arts in Miami, FL, on December 5; The Chapel in San Francisco, CA, on December 7; and The Roxy in Los Angeles, CA, on December 9. Longtime collaborator Airhead will provide support for these North American dates. His support is technically in support of 2013’s Overgrown, but Blake has released some new material in the past few months (listen to new single “200 Press” below). For more information on ticketing and on-sale dates, visit Blake’s website.
James Blake’s much-loved eponymous debut album was released in 2011 to high critical acclaim—it was nominated both for the Mercury Music Prize and BBC’s Sound of 2011 that same year. Blake lost out to PJ Harvey and Jessie J, respectively, but nabbed a Mercury Prize in 2013, avenging his loss. His sophomore album, Overgrown, was released in 2013, and, in 2014, he was nominated at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards for Best New Artist.
